Candidates in the third year of Junior High Schools approved by the Ghana Education Service are eligible to register to take part in the BECE.

Students who are registered will partake in the core subjects English Language, Social Studies Integrated Science and Mathematics.

Meanwhile, the elective subjects include Ghanaian Language and Culture, Basic Design and Technology, Religious & Moral Education, Information and Communication Technology, as well as French which is optional.

Ges Releases 2019/2020 Academic Calendar for Basic Schools

A statement signed by the Ag. Director of the Basic Education Division of the GES, and copied to websaet.com indicates that, all schools are required to adhere to the specified dates and effectively use the stipulated instructional hours.

the statement added that basic schools are to re-open on September 4th, 2019 for the 1st term of the 2019/2020 academic year with a commemoration of “My First Day at School”.

The academic calendar is for basic schools only. The 2019 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will take place from 8th June to 12 June 2019.
